Day Off!

Wednesday I had the day off and had quite a productive day! To start the day, I had a dentist appointment in the morning. I just love getting my teeth cleaned, don't you? Then I ran a few errands, had lunch with some good girlfriends at Momma Goldberg's Deli, which is FABULOUS! So Yummy! I ordered the Cajun Turkey Sub with provologne and spicy mustard :) After lunch I had some time to kill until my 2:00 pm appointment for an oil change (yes, I had to make an appt. 24 hours in advance). I found that rather funny :) Guess where I went to kill some time?

TJ-MAXX
Ya'll know I just love some TjMaxx :) I found some good stuff today too! I have been looking for something to hang my necklaces up on and look what I found!! I have way too many necklaces, but a girl can NEVER have too many :) I have most necklaces in my curio on black velvet display necks, but needed something else to do with them. So here's the before and after photos. I bought 2 of these for only $12.99 each :)

BEFORE

AFTER

The case has a glass door that is magnetic and you know it's shut real good! What do you think? I also found this cute oven mitt for $1.99. I should've stocked up on some for gifts. How cute of a gift would these make given with some cookie mix?
Speaking of Cookies...look at this cookie book! It has OVER 600 cookie and cookie bar recipes!! It has a picture of every single cookie too, which is what I like! Don't you like cookbooks with pictures? After TJMaxx, I still had an hour to kill, so I went to Hancock Fabrics to JUST look. I always go to Simply Unique in Ozark for fabric and patterns, but I did walk out of Hancock with this...how could I NOT pass it up! Ya'll know my love for cupcakes AND baking!

It even has 3 different aprin patterns. Also, this week Hancock is having a huge fabric sale, I bought a yard of this adorable summer fabric for $3.49 a yard :)

I promise Mrs. Paula if your reading, this is all I bought and I will come see you soon :) By the way SIMPLY UNIQUE in Ozark is expanding!! If your in the area, go visit! You won't be dissapointed!

The weekend is ALMOST here :)

Monday Blues

Today has been a typical Monday...just blah. I haven't had the best of days. My mommy did bring me some yummy cookies today at work :) I am a sucker for cookies, they are one of my favorite treats..of course cupcakes are #1. I have been slacking in the tanning department, so I headed back to the good ol' tanning beds. I just love the 15 or 20 minutes of relaxation in a tanning bed :)

Momma and I have been talking about our sweet doggy Chloe and how she needs a chair of her own for when we eat dinner, play cards, sew, talk, etc at the table...well I came home and my Mom found the PERFECT thing for my sweet angel...she LOVES it! As you all may already know, Chloe Elizabeth is treated like a human at my house :)

I also made Chloe a quilt today with some "feel good" minky material on the back. She has a quilt on the couch and ottoman that my Me-Maw made just for her and she has to have one in the car when she sits in the center console. So it was only right that I made her a pink/coral/lime quilt :) Perfect for summer! Whatcha think?

I am also working on another little something for a baby gift, but I can't show pics because Baby Ava's mommy looks on here...hey Amy P!! :)
In the next day or so, I will say what I did this past weekend...I went to the movies..can you guess which movie I went to go see??

Randomness

This post has a little bit of everything in it. Sorry for the following randomness :)

First off, I have a recipe that is SO EASY! More importantly..it's DELICIOUS! With only 4 ingredients and 30 to cook and prep, this is the perfect side to any dinner! I have made this dish twice in 5 days :)Here's what you will need: 1 Box of Jiffy corn muffin mix, 1 can of creamed corn, 1 stick of butter(melted), and 1 Tblsp of sugar.

Combine all the ingredients together and pour into a bread loaf pan. It will look like this below.
Put this in the oven at 425 degrees and bake for 25 minutes :) And BAM!!! That's it! So easy! I usually let mine stay in for about 27 minutes or until the edges aren't touching the side and the top is golden brown. Look how lovely!
Last Sunday afternoon, I decided that my sweet Chloe needed a couple of handmade toys from her mommy :) I went to PetsMart and bought a 6-pack of replacement squeakers for $2. I decided to make some Easter toys. These are handstitched with love :) The egg looks bad, because I took a pic after Chloe played with it.

Toy #1: An Egg
Here is my sweet Chloe playing with her new toy! She loves it!
Toy #2: An Easter Bunny

This bunny is my favorite! I sewed his nose, ears and eyes by hand too :) His face has a squeaker and his ears have crinkled wax paper inside for crinkly ears! Chloe loves anything that squeaks and crinkles!

While I sewed Chloe's toys (and another pillowcase, sorry didnt take a pic), it was her usual nap time...but she wanted to sleep near me...so I grabbed her doggy stroller and put her in it and she slept for 2 hours in there! Of course when I took the picture she stood up to pose.
Many of you are more than likely shaking your heads because I have bought my precious dog a dog stroller..but it is awesome! I take her for walks at the lake and down the street and also at Claybank Jamboree (which occurs once a year downtown..outside). She is too little to walk so much, so we bought her a stroller from PetsMart for her 1st Birthday! It even has 2 cup holders and place for keys/cell phone. She loves laying in there with her favorite pig stuffed animal, a rawhide, and a quilt my Me-Maw made her. Chloe is VERY spoiled, can you tell?

I ordered a dress from Venus.com and it came in today!! What do you girls think?
I am so ready for warm weather!! Are you?Have A FABULOUS weekend!

"Sew Cute Pillowcases" and Valentine Tree!

Here's the pillowcase I made this weekend!! Please excuse the corny Post Title :) I got a little carried away.
Here is what you will need to make 1 Standard Size pillowcase.
3/4 yard of Main Fabric
1/3 yard of Edge Fabric
1/8 yard of Accent Band Fabric
Cutting Instructions:
Cut the main fabric 41" wide and 26" long
Cut the edge fabric 9" x 41"
Cut the accent band 2" x 41"
Sewing Instructions:
1. Fold the accent band and the edge fabric in half lengthwise with the right side of the fabric facing out. Press the fold.

2. Place the accent band on top of the main fabric, raw edges together.Layer the edge fabric on top of the band and main fabric. (again, raw edges together) Pin the layers together.

3. Stitch the five layers of fabric together using a 1/2" seam allowance. Trim the seam allowance tp 1/4". Stict the seam a second time 1/8" away from the raw edge.
If you have a zig-zag stitch on your machine or access to a serger, you can stitch this seam allowance with a zig-zag or overcast stitch.

4. Fold the pillowcase in half with the wrong sides out. Pin together the sides and bottom of the pillowcase. Stitch the fabric together using a 1/2" seam allowance. Finish the seam as you did above.
5. Turn the pillowcase to the right side and press.
*The directions these came from are from 'Sewing Cards by Valori Wells Designs' "Pillowcases"*

The VALENTINE TREE is finished :) Thanks to Michael's, we have completed the topper (not so naked anymore) and thanks to Hobby Lobby(my new fav place), our tree has some cute ornaments :)
Have a great week everyone! If you have any questions about the pillowcases, just e-mail me!
*The giveaway I have coming up starts Thursday...so keep watching!*
