England Trip- Part 1

After some much needed rest from jet-lag and lots of unpacking, I am FINALLY posting a little bit of my recent ENGLAND trip :) I took tons and tons of pictures which means there will be several posts of my trip to make it easier on me and also a bit more fun for ya'll :)

DAY 1- Traveling and Arriving in Crewkerne, England

*We had two flights to England, the first was an hour and a half with a 4 hour layover until the REAL plane ride that was 6 hours and 45 minutes long. We arrived in England at 7:20 am England time (1:20am Alabama time!!) My brother and a driver picked my parents and I up at the airport.

Someone's Sleeping!!!
Airplane Food: Penne Pasta, Salad, Roll, and Oreo Brownie

*During the drive from London to Crewkerne we stopped for lunch at a local river that had tons of pretty boats, swans, and a cute food stand. It was at that food stand I had my first of many "chips"..with ketchup of course :)

This is actually a Houseboat, people really live in there!!

The driver and his little car

*After driving some more, we stopped by a fruit stand. There were TONS of these on the side of the road! Mainly the local farmers were selling cherries and strawberries, the prettiest strawberries I have EVER seen!

*Once we arrived in Crewkerne, we went to Rebecca's (my new sis-in-law) parents house to say hello to everyone and for a light lunch and to also settle in to the house we would be staying in all week. Rebecca's next door neighbors were very nice and let us stay in the 2nd floor of their home for the week. Mr. Len and Mrs. Margaret. Mr. Len was in the Bristish CIA....they call it something else though. He had tons of cool stories to share before bedtime!

***FUNNY STORY- Mom and I were getting ready for bed the first night and Mr. Len gave us each a bottle of water for if we got thirsty in the middle of the night. Mom went to take some medicine and opened the water bottle, took a huge swallow.....and got a REALLY funny face..it was CARBONATED SODA water!!! The look on her face was priceless! Needless to say everywhere we went we bought Evian water...all other water was carbonated!

*After a much needed 2 hour power nap, we went into downtown Crewkerne..everything is on ONE spot! I LOVED Crewkerne! It was so cute and pretty! The buildings were adorable, the streets were made of stone, and everyone was so nice!
Rebecca at the "Kissing Gate" going into town!

I loved seeing this elderly man EVERY morning with his hat, cane, and red book :)

My brother standing in front of one of Rebecca's dad's businesses.

I had a Chocolate milkshake here at our FAVORITE cafe!! Mom and Kyle split a piece of some kind of pie. This is the Primary School (elementary) that Rebecca attended. Isn't it gorgeous?

This is my favorite little store in Crewkerne! The owner was such a sweetheart and I will do a post on JUST 'Delilah Petal' tomorrow as well as some more pics about a shopping trip to Exeter, England! I hope you've enjoyed some of the pics of my 1st day in England!

Have a FABULOUS day!
